The actual authors of Hansel and Gretel are the Brothers Grimm.
I have retold this story at school and this is the starting of it : In the Amber leaf forest there lived a brother and a sister. The boy was called Hansel and the girl was called Gretel. The two siblings had a parrot called nibble cause he nibbled a lot. They also had a stepmother that hated them and a dad who loved them.
The reason people like to retell story's is because they might like to add things to the story
and people might think it's a little old fashion and would like to make it more modern or add a pet to it.
My Hansel and Gretel had a pet in it, it was a parrot named Nibble.
I made mine more modern by adding fizzy bricks.

One day the family chose to have a walk in the forest it was all the stepmothers idea she planned to leave her two kids behind but it was lucky that hansel and gretel had brought nibble their pet parrot with them because when their stepmother had left them while they were playing nibble had seen the stepmother dragging the lovely father away and quickly warned the children. “Mum leaving mum leaving,” squawked nibble in his parrot voice. The children quickly ran after their parents. The stepmother was mad about this and she locked them in their room.
At 5 o’clock in the morning Hansel and Gretel woke up they looked at the koo koo clock on the wall and saw that it was only 5 o’clock and they tried to go to sleep but they couldn't so they tried sleeping in different positions but no matter what they couldn’t get to sleep. Well they did hate the house they lived in and just at the moment Hansel came up with an idea “We should run away! We should jump out the window so pack a few things and a sleeping bag,” The two started to pack a bag each and they jumped out the window.
They had walked for a while when they came across a house completely made of candy the two children dropped their bags in amazement. Suddenly the door to the house opened and an elderly woman peered out and said “Hello you there girl can be my maid you there boy has a nice surprise,” and she did a little evil giggle.
The elderly woman pushed hansel into a big cage and said “You will get lots of treats,”and threw in a pile of candy for him to munch on and for Gretel she was given her new maids dress.
Gretel was shown to her room but as for Hansel he had to sleep in the cage. Gretel’s room was amazing it had a fizzy brick pillow and a rainbow stripe blanket. “What should I do first?” asked Gretel to her new mother “Clean the stove!” Gretel didn’t want to get the lady mad so she did what she was told to do when walked into the main room her brother looked sad so she said “Don’t be sad you will be happy soon,” but he didn’t get happier days went by every time Hansel was feed (fed)he would eat one candy and chuck the rest away.
One day Gretel woke up to find nibble squawking at her Gretel had now started to love the elderly woman now so Gretel shooed nibble away but nibble did not go away he stayed and squawked “woman will eat brother, woman will eat brother,” Gretel then was in shock, she raced to the main room with nibble. They saw the elderly woman carrying Hansel while he was asleep and she almost put him in the oven when she saw the fire wasn’t hot enough so she picked up another bit of coal and while she was doing that Gretel made her move she pushed the elderly evil woman into the oven and the evil elderly woman let out a horrifying scream but before the woman could finish her scream Gretel slammed the oven door shut. Gretel woke her brother up and said “Roast evil elderly lady anyone.”
The next day Hansel and Gretel decided to call the evil elderly lady’s house their home and they would invite their father to live with them. But as for their mother I am happy to say she lives alone and has to do her work by herself.
Since Hansel, Gretel and their father had moved into the candy house they opened a cafe and they build the cafe out of real materials like bricks and they used the candy house as their supplies. Now they get lots of customers and this is what they serve at their cafe.
